Kate's Trip to See "You Know Who!"

This past weekend we took Kate to the mall and ran into Santa Clause! Who knew he would be in town! So of course we had to snap a pic of Kate with the big guy!

Kate's changing before our eyes (and ears!) Now that she's six and a half months old, she has two teeth and a fun new game...letting out a high pitch squeal when she's happy. We have to remember not to laugh about it when we're out in public, however. As for her crawling - she's up on all fours and can go in reverse (sort of), so we think she'll put it in drive real soon.

Here are some pics of her St. Nick visit.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!

Kate's First Holiday Party!

This past Sunday, we attended the annual Christmas party of daddy's studio and let Kate see how we party in the A-T-L! Actually, since we were all up the night before, we didn't party that much.

For the first time, the party was held at Rhodes Hall, an old house in mid-town. The food was great and Kate had a good time showing off her new threads and socializing. This was of course before the meltdown when we had to say our quick goodbyes and make a speedy exit!

Still, we had tons o' fun...

Thanks to Joe and Athena for the pics.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Kate and family had a great time on and around Turkey Day. On Thursday, we went to Jen's parents here in town for some yummy bird. Kate wore her new yellow dress that she was very proud of. She also loved to look at all the food and dream of one day slipping into a turkey coma just like everyone else!

On Saturday, we drove to Birmingham for an overnight stay. We ate MORE yummy food and watched as Grandma Jane and Kate laughed together and swapped stories. Then we settled in for the all-important Iron Bowl football game, which is of course Alabama vs. Auburn. Kate let out many squeals and yelps, which was easily translated by daddy as Roll Tide! Sadly, they lost to Auburn. Kate was so upset that she couldn't sleep at all Saturday night and oddly enough, neither did mommy or daddy!

On Sunday, we drove back to Atlanta and proceeded to nap the rest of the day by the fire before eating some tasty chili. All in all, it was a wonderful weekend for us and all our family.

As usual, here are some snaps of the long weekend for you to enjoy.

KATE'S MOUNTAIN GETAWAY

The first weekend in November, we got together with some friends at a cabin in Blue Ridge, GA for the weekend. Rick, Melanie, Hannah and Noah drove up from Columbus, while Sara and Jason drove over from the Carolinas. None of us had been to this part of GA before, so we weren't sure what to expect. Let me just say...it was GREAT! The cabin was perfect for the number of people we had and the weather couldn't have been nicer.

We realized early on that only spending a few days together wasn't enough time, so next year, we'll make it a longer stay. Kate loved meeting her new friends and sucking them into her tractor beam of cuteness.

Here are some pics (or if you prefer, eye poems...)

Kate's First Halloween

Kate had a ball at the "Halloween Trick or Treats" afternoon hosted by a local shopping center in our area on Saturday, October 27. She got lots of good ideas for next year's costume and enjoyed people watching. She especially hit it off with a cute little Yoda (that's my girl!)

KATE'S BIG DAY!

On October 14, Kate was baptised at St. Teresa's Episcopal Church. She was a little superstar. Everyone who saw her was blown away by her charm! (of course...) At one point during Father Buff's sermon, when he mentioned her name, she answered him with a loud squeal, cracking up the whole church. She was laughing and cooing through most of the service. She didn't even seem to mind it that much when she was actually baptised. She thought about fussing, but then decided against it.

After the service, we had a reception at our house where friends and family gathered to celebrate the wonderful weather and incredible food. We are so thankful to everyone who helped make this day such an enjoyable and memorable event.

Below are some pictures of Kate's big day...

FINALLY, AN UPDATE!

It's been a while since we've updated Kate's page because our camera went kaput a while back and we've been waiting on it to be fixed. Well, the good folks at Canon couldn't fix our old one, so they sent us a new model refurbished one. So, the sparkle in Kate's eyes will look just a little bit clearer!

Kate just turned four months old and she's doing great! She's actually sleeping through the night several nights a week (thank the maker!) and is very responsive to all going on around her. She's in the 98.5 percentile for height and right around average for weight. So her upcoming basketball or volleyball career seems well intact!

We are all getting ready for her baptism this weekend. We've been practicing dumping water on her head during bath time and she's loving it! We are surprised and pleased by all those who have indicated they are coming to share in that special day. It's gonna' a fun time.

Here are a few new pics of Kate showing off her progress. More updates coming real soon...

Kate Celebrates Jane and Wendy's Birthday

This past week, Kate had her two month check up and the doctor told us what we already know...she's perfect! Based on her height and weight measurements, she will probably be a basketball player! She celebrated her great check up by helping Wendy and Jane celebrate their birthday (they're both on July 30). She also wanted to show off her beautiful dress that was hand-made by a family friend.

Enjoy the pics!

Kate Takes Trip to Augusta

This past weekend, Kate joined her cousins in Augusta to celebrate the baptism of Jack Johnson. She stayed at her first hotel (hope those walls are thick enough!) and got to meet many relatives. After a whirlwind Saturday, she returned home Sunday afternoon with many new outfits to show off in the future. Her sleep / eat schedule got a little messed up and since she is now eight weeks old and 11.5 pounds, that might play a part in her schedule being off from her norm. We've been told when babies get around the 12 pound / 10 week old mark, they experience a growth burst, which can affect their eating habits and temperment slightly. We think this will settle down in a bit as she keeps growing into a little lady.

Here are a some pics of the weekend.

KATE IS SIX WEEKS OLD!!!

It's hard to believe but Kate is one day shy of six weeks old! Sadly, that means today mommy had to return to work. Thankfully, Kate is in good hands with Jen's mom at our place to spend time quality time with her. Our REAL big news is for reasons we don't comprehend or question, last night Kate SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT! We're hoping that will be a continuing trend but we also understand not to expect it. Anyway, here are a few recent pics of Kate to enjoy.
